⚡ Power In Every Step: How Your Movement is Powering Global Concerts
Updated
We all know movement is good for us — burning calories, lifting mood, strengthening our health. But what if dancing at a concert could do more than lift spirits?
That’s exactly what Coldplay fans have been doing, literally powering the show through their movement. It sounds futuristic, but it’s real.
Let’s take a look into how Movement is fueling a new economy.

Movement Is Energy, Literally
As part of their Music of the Spheres tour, Coldplay introduced kinetic dance floors and energy bikes at their concerts. These weren’t gimmicks. They were tools for change.
Every jump, dance move, or pedal stroke contributed to powering the concert:
- 🌍 17 kWh per show generated by fans moving and pedaling, enough to power their C-stage set each night.
- 🚲 Stationary bikes converted cycling into battery-stored electricity.
- 💡 Over 18 shows in 2023 were powered entirely by the tour’s mobile battery systems, which include some fan‑generated energy.
Coldplay has cut their touring emissions by 59 percent compared to their previous tour through using renewable, and movement based electricity.
Movement Creates Real-World Value
This is what we mean when we talk about the Value of Movement. It isn’t just a personal health choice, it plays a role in a wider economic and environmental system.
Coldplay’s tour proves this in action. Human movement generated usable electricity, which in turn powered the infrastructure supporting the concert experience. The entire process was measurable and repeatable, offering a real-world example of how physical activity can fuel systems beyond the individual.
Movement in everyday life
Now imagine if your daily walk, gym session, or morning run could contribute to something just as impactful.
As we’ve seen in our previous blog, electricity-generating tiles are already being deployed in high-traffic spaces around the world — train stations, shopping malls, even schools.
With the right infrastructure, everyday movement in public spaces could help power the environments around us.
That’s the promise of The Movement Economy: value from the steps we take, and new ways to own and unlock that value everywhere we go.
$SWEAT: Turning Global Steps into Global Value
Coldplay tapped into the energy of a concert crowd to power their show. At SWEAT, we’re building a system that rewards movement of all kinds, everywhere.
While we aren’t capturing electricity like Coldplay, we are capturing something just as powerful: the measurable benefits of movement.
- 💪 Better health outcomes. Regular movement reduces risk of chronic diseases, boosts mental well-being, and adds years to life.
- 🏦 Lower societal costs. Increased daily movement is linked to reduced healthcare costs, improved productivity, and fewer missed workdays.
- 💰 Real economic value. With $SWEAT, your activity is recorded on-chain and converted into a usable, tradeable digital asset.
Wherever you are, and however you move, your Movement has value and with $SWEAT, you own it.

The Movement Economy Is Already Here
Coldplay showed that a stadium full of people can generate real-world value with their movement. $SWEAT is proving the same each day with millions of users and billions of steps logged.
The question is no longer whether movement has value. The question is how that value will be captured and who will own it.
At SWEAT, our answer is simple: You moved. You should own the value.
🚀 Who do you think should tap into the Movement Economy next? Festivals? Schools? Cities?
Tell us in the comments.
